ClientExec is going to have a vast amount of new features such as integrated live chat, unified invoices, and many other features that have not yet been disclosed. The unified invoices are a really interesting upgrade because they allow you to merge multiple invoices into a single one, making the transaction process much simpler for both administrator and client. ClientExec is continually upgrading their software so that they can better meet the needs of their customers, but this ClientExec release is set to be the best ever.

Recently, ClientExec released the new software to an beta test group to make sure that there are no major bugs or errors that need to be fixed before it is released to the rest of the world. The interesting thing is that ClientExec is already running the new software on their system, but since they are aware that they may run into a few minor problems, they are allowing it to be tested thoroughly before most of their customers have access to it. Some of the feature upgrades that you can expect on the new ClientExec platform are stock control, powerful product handling, a few updates to the admin center, a team calendar function, and a redesigned front end. With all of the new features on ClientExec, they are taking a significant step in the right direction.

Also, there has been recent news of an Alpha version being released for testing.  With this we can expect more updates, added features and maybe even a set launch date.  It looks like the highly anticipated ClientExec stable version release is not too far away!  Keep your eyes peeled as we will continue to keep you updated about this billing system on the latest news as we receive it.

If you’ve been waiting for stock control, you’ll be excited to know that this will be included in the new ClientExec version.  They have created a user-friendly system that is still capable of producing powerful results.   You will be able to fully control all of your offerings and the quantity of each.  You also have more control with how your system displays out of stock products and such as hiding the prices for the products you have sold out of.

For those of you who have been requesting an easier system in which to sell things other than web hosting, your requests have been heard!  ClientExec 4.1 will now be designed to allow you to more easily sell products such as, hosting related products, domains (including single domain names), SSL, and the ability to bundle any combinations of these together!

Also, you will find a lot of updates to the admin UI that will make things a little easier on you.  These updates include the ability to see who else is viewing the same page  and the ability to quickly go back to the last five tickets previously viewed.   Also within ClientExec’s admin interface, you will now be able to automatically save the dynamic grids throughout the interface so that you can customize each grid to your needs. ClientExec has also added more options to customize the grids as well such as, hiding, sorting, ordering and filtering.

If you liked the ‘Team Status’ module, you’ll appreciate the fact that they are adding more updates to this.  You will also find a new design with the frontend templates.  This will give a fresher appearance and can be integrated easily into any website, as the new template is written with half as much HTML and CSS coding.

Just as we are getting over our excitement, we are now introduced to WHMCS V4.4.2!  “What else can be added?” you ask.  Well, let’s take a quick look.

For this newest version, you can expect a lot of maintenance to any of the bugs that were previously reported and fixes to both versions 4.4.0 and 4.4.1.

Since there aren’t any database upgrades or template changes, if you are already running V4.4.1, upgrading to this latest version will be very simple.  If you are currently running on a version 4.4.0 or earlier, you an install the latest full stable version by following these steps:

• Begin by taking a backup of your database through a tool such as phpMyAdmin
• Unzip the contents of the zip file download to a folder on your computer
• Remove the images/logo.jpg file to avoid overwriting your customised logo
• Upload the files to your existing installation folder overwriting any existing files
• Visit the admin area to access the upgrade script
• Accept the license agreement
• Confirm you have backed up your database and click the upgrade button
• Once the script finishes loading, delete the install folder
• Before the upgrade is completed, you must update your custom template with any new or changed template files

If you take advantage of the Multi-Language features, there is now Admin Area support with the ability to upgrade and downgrade.  Also in this area there are added invoicing features such as the ability to split and merge invoices, mass product/service updates, added options for credit card processing, updated PayPal language settings, as well as many other domain management and support system adds, fixes and improvements.
